Mission Statement:

This Website has been created reach a small group of visitors who manage to find RTBL.  Our goal here is to reach those who are open to change in their life and are seeking answers to questions that plague most of us in the times we live.

I know that God chooses whomever He wishes to be  used by Him and history has shown that God doesn't always chose the strongest amongst us to do His work.  I also know that I am not a great thinker, writer or spiritual leader but feel that God has placed in my heart the desire to reach whomever will listen to my humble messages. 

(1Co 1:27) but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put to shame them that are wise; and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;

(1Co 1:28) and the base things of the world, and the things that are despised, did God choose, yea and the things that are not, that he might bring to nought the things that are:

(1Co 1:29) that no flesh should glory before God.

This site may only reach a few people who visit, and if you feel God is calling you, He is...  Not everyone will relate to my messages and I cannot reach all people, but I hope that those directed here will hear the voice of Christ hearkening them to a relationship with Him if they do not have one yet.

I am just one follower of Christ whose purpose, I believe, is to add one more voice to spread the Gospel of the Good News of Christ and help hasten the return of Jesus. As I start my journey with this Website, I hope you will take this walk with me where we can both learn and apply the principles of a relationship with Jesus and to learn more about His Kingdom. 

Some who visit RTBL may feel that I am creating this website to earn salvation or eternal life and just so you know, I already have eternal life and salvation through my Lord and Saviour Jesus the Messiah... All I am trying to do with this site is bring others along who do not know Christ and who do not have eternal life. For those who do not know Jesus, I am hoping you'll accept Christ and join me in eternity when this life is over.

My Belief:

I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and because of Man's fall from grace in the Garden of Eden, Christ was sent to re-acquire the Kingdom and mankind from the illegal ownership of Satan, Lucifer the Devil. Through Christ, we have redemption and salvation from our sins because He shed His cleansing blood when crucified on the cross of Calvary. I believe that Jesus is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings as stated in the Bible and I have asked Him to be the directional compass of my life.

About Me:

Road to Better Living is located in Portland Oregon and is a one man show. I opened my web site doors in December of 2003 and have been serving the internet community ever since. I originally opened up as an internet retail outlet, but after a severe back injury, I took down my online business.  Due to God's provision and help since my accident, I have since decided to focus my attentions toward those who are seeking change in their life and an understanding  of who Jesus is and why we need Him.

I have been a follower of Christ for over 30 years and attend Beaverton Foursquare Church in Beaverton Oregon. I have read and followed the bible during my Christian walk, but it has only been recently that I have started to understand the concept of the Kingdom of God. I am on an adventure to discover the Kingdom of God and I am dedicating my website and talents to help others discover the Kingdom principles and a closer walk with God.

Professional Career

In my professional career I have been in the Software environment since 1988 and in 1991 I worked for Central Point Software as a Technical Support Representative. I later moved into Research and Development as a Software Tester and worked there until Central Point Software was acquired by Symantec Corporation, makers of Norton AntiVirus. When Central Point was sold, I was asked to stay on with Symantec and over time, advanced through the ranks to a Quality Assurance Test Engineer and Supervisor where I supervised a Beaverton QA team and remotely supervised our International Quality Test personnel in Japan and Dublin.

I worked for Symantec for 12 years before Symantec closed their Oregon site and moved their software R&D to Newport News Virginia and Santa Monica. I declined offers to move to either location and elected to stay in Portland to be near my son and have remained here since.
